The H2Only League is well under way with most of its divisions now reaching the end of the first round.

In the first division singles section, there is only one fixture to go before the start of the second round. Kenneth Vella (Pawla Wolves BC) leads the pack with three wins and a draw to his credit.

The only point dropped by Vella so far was against second-placed David Cole, who is two points adrift but with a match in hand. Should Cole win his last first-round fixture, he would reach Vella at the top and the two start their second round commitments on equal footing.

Standings: Kenneth Vella 7 points; David Cole 5; Tony Xuereb 4; Jacqueline De Giovanni and Patrick Cassar 1 each.

The second division doubles section is also half-way through with all pairs having played four matches each.

Martin Camilleri and Tony Xuereb - both hailing from Pawla Wolves BC - top the table with maximum points, having preserved their unbeaten status so far.

The Wolves duo ended their first round in style with a clear 15-7 15-3 win over Catherine Dimech and Jo'Anne Cassar.

David Cole and Anna Galea are second, three points adrift of the leaders. They similarly ended the first round on a positive note with a 15-7 15-11 win over Franz and Kenneth Vella.

Standings: Camilleri/Xuereb 8 points; Cole/Galea 5; F. Vella/K. Vella 3; De Giovanni/Cassar and Dimech/Cassar 2 points each.
