About 200 members from the YADA dance company are working hard in rehearsals to stage Footloose.
The show will be the 13th production by the company and six shows will be staged between May 5 and 14 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
Dance company director Felix Busuttil said the dancers have been rehearsing daily over the past four months and are now putting the show together.
"The show will be on the same lines of Dirty Dancing, and will feature a number of popular songs that will hit those over 40 with a strong bout of nostalgia.
"The show is based on the film Footloose and will feature Chiara, Oliva Lewis, J. Anvil, Claudia Faniello, Debbie Scerri, Glen Vella and Claudette Pace," Mr Busuttil said. The direction of the actors is by Marie Lou Coppini who also plays a part in the show. Costumes are being designed by Charles and Ron while the set design is by Harry Borg.
Mr Busuttil, Justin Roy Barker, Vivien Fielding Refalo, and Christina Schranz are in charge of choreography. The main dancing parts are entrusted to Felix Busuttil, Darron Galea, Ritienne Sacco and Catherine Strawbridge.
