Two departmental inquiries were held last year at St Luke's Hospital and another at Mount Carmel Hospital, Health Minister Louis Deguara said.

He told Labour MP Michael Farrugia in reply to a Parliamentary question that the inquiries at St Luke's were about an alleged overdose of medicine administered to a girl who was a patient at the hospital and a claim by the parents of another girl that their daughter was not given enough attention while at hospital. The latter inquiry has been stopped as the parents have asked the Courts to hold their own inquiry.

The Mount Carmel inquiry was into the alleged unprofessional behavior of a nurse.
