Lyndon Grech, 19, of Vittoriosa, was yesterday granted bail after being charged with attempting to seriously injure a police officer at St Luke's Hospital on Sunday.

He was further charged with slightly injuring the officer, Warren Magri, assaulting him with a bottle, resisting arrest, breaching the peace and disobeying police orders.

He was granted bail against a deposit of Lm100 and a personal guarantee of Lm400.

Inspector Mario Bonello prosecuted.
