The Gzira Pageant Group are putting up a Passion pageant, Hekk hu l-Bniedem, written by Joe Borg and directed by Alfred Mamo and Benny Bugeja, at Gzira parish church on Thursday and Friday at 7.30 p.m. The pageant will cover the life of Jesus, his Passion, death and Resurrection.

The Fgura Youth Centre is presenting Tibzax Izda Emmen, a Passion pageant written and directed by Kurt Scerri, at Fgura primary school hall on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets at 75c (children 50c) are available from the Fgura parish centre.

Misteru ta' Mhabba, an exhibition of figurines depicting Christ's Passion, is being put up at the church of St Agatha, Rabat, on Sunday from 10 a.m. till noon; from April 3 to 12 between 9 a.m. and noon, and 1 to 7 p.m.; on Palm Sunday from 9 a.m. till noon and 4 to 8 p.m.; Maundy Thursday from 9 till noon and 1 to 11 p.m.; Good Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Easter Saturday from 9 till noon and 4 to 8 p.m. The exhibition will be closed during church services.

Qala parish is organising for the second time an ecumenical event - Gozo International Celebration - for foreign nationals residing or visiting Gozo at the St Joseph parish church and square on Sunday between 6.30 and 8.30 p.m.

This socio-cultural event will open with an address by Qala archpriest Canon Dr Joseph Zammit followed by short interventions on the theology of the Cross by representatives of various Christian denominations, a number of Easter-related music pieces played on the organ by Mario Portelli and an Easter concert by Island Brass, with the participation of the two Qala choirs, St Joseph and Magnificat, and soloist Ruth Portelli.

A traditional Easter reception will be held at St Joseph Square, weather permitting. Otherwise, it will be held at Mgr Mikiel F. Buttigieg Hall, April 28, 1688, Street, Qala. For more information call Canon Zammit on 2155-6684 or Dr Raymond C. Scerri on 9942-7633.
