I would like to publicly congratulate Mro Richard Bugeja for attaining the Fellowship in Music Composition granted by the Victoria College of Music, with honours.

Mro Bugeja was also awarded a gold medal for his submission. The work presented is a sacred cantata for concert band, soloists, chorus and narrator, called Mary, Blessed Amongst Women.

Mro Bugeja is a well-known Maltese musician, composer and conductor. He currently conducts St Mary's Band Club of Dingli and St Philip's Band Club of Zebbug.

He is also the assistant band conductor of L'Isle Adam Band Club of Rabat with whom he started his music lessons in the Eighties.

Mro Bugeja has composed various other works, particularly the suite Malta through the Ages, which was premiered by St Mary Band at the Manoel Theatre in November 2004. This suite also earned him the Fellowship of the London College of Music.
