A 24-hour martial arts and massage marathon in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust will be held between noon tomorrow and noon on Sunday at the Bay Street complex in St Julians.
Athletes will entertain spectators with martial arts displays while professional masseurs will give massage treatments.
Actor and world martial arts gold medallist Silvio Simac will demonstrate his skills tomorrow at 8.30 p.m. Natasha Turner, a PSD (life skills) teacher, said martial arts was not violent but rather taught self-respect and self-discipline, which could help those who practise it stay away from drugs and beat low self-esteem.
Wolfgang Rach, a special forces martial arts trainer and counter terrorism expert, spoke about the importance of training and the safety of the sport.
