The result of this month's local council elections is a clear indication that the people agree with the General Workers' Union's protests against the surcharge on water and electricity bills, the union's general secretary, Tony Zarb, said yesterday.
Speaking during a seminar for youths, Mr Zarb said the union would again send a message to Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi to give heed to what the people are saying.
He said considering the people's clear message, Dr Gonzi should keep his word and meet the GWU so that a solution to the problem could be found.
