Work on the rebuilding of the St Paul's Bay bypass is expected to start in the coming weeks, Roads Minister Jesmond Mugliett told Michael Gonzi (PN) in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday.

The minister also told Mario Galea (PN) that improvements to the Zabbar-Marsascala bypass were one of the government's priorities, along with the Kappara-Manoel Island road, but decisions had to be taken at Cabinet level regarding funding.

If funding for the former could not be made available from EU sources, he was confident the Transport Authority would make its own allocations next year, the minister said.
