We refer to the letter entitled VVIPs' on Air Malta (March 14).

David Newman's request to pre-assign Seat 1D was received and processed by Air Malta's Flypass section. The section confirmed the seat allocation to Mr Newman.

Unfortunately at that point in time we did not realise that Row 1 had already been pre-assigned and confirmed to other passengers. Subsequent efforts to contact Mr Newman and advise him failed. A letter of apology has been sent to Mr Newman on the matter.
