The marriage took place on Saturday, February 25 at Naxxar parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, between JOSEPH, son of the late Mr Joseph Sciberras and Mrs Christine Sciberras of Attard, and ALICIA, daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Galea of Naxxar. Mass was celebrated by Fr Ray Toledo. The ceremony was witnessed by Ms Julienne Galea and Mrs Penelope Fritzgerald, B.Ed. (Hons), Dip. Youth Studies. Mr Melvin Vassallo, ACCA B.Com. carried out the duties of best man, while Mr Daniel Sciberras and Mr Peter Fitzgerald were ushers. The bride was attended by Miss Katrina Grech as maid of honour, Miss Liona Bartolo, Miss Michaela Valletta as bridesmaids, and Miss Martina Fritzgerald as flower-girl. A reception was later held at Villa Mdina, Naxxar. The couple are spending their honeymoon in the Caribbean.

FARRUGIA. On March 14, in Tarija, Bolivia, the Lord called to Himself Fr JOSEPH FARRUGIA, O.Carm., parish priest of Concepción (Tarija), Bolivia, a week before his 66th birthday. Fr Farrugia was a missionary in Bolivia since 1967. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Fr Robert Farrugia, O.Carm., his sisters Mary, widow of Carmel Micallef of Australia, and Nanette and her husband Mario Spiteri, his brothers of the Maltese Carmelite Province, his nephew and nieces, cousins, among whom Fr Edmond Caruana, O.Carm., other relatives and friends.
The funeral and burial took place in Concepción on March 16. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Venera parish church on March 21 at 6.30 p.m. The presence of relatives, friends and benefactors of the Maltese Carmelite Missions in Bolivia will be greatly appreciated. May God grant him eternal rest.

Fr Abdilla officiated at my wedding ceremony and later baptised my two children. "What a wonderful homily he delivered", a friend of mine had told me after my wedding. "He wanted everyone to know what nice people you are", she added.
Now I feel it is my turn to tell everyone what a nice person he was. He certainly deserves more than words can tell, ever so ready to help everyone around.
It was an honour to be present at his funeral Mass with my family. My son served as an altar boy. I felt this was the least I could give back to him in appreciation for his kindness.
To his family, my sincere condolences. Rest in peace, Father.
