Thirty supporters of Paris St Germain will be banned from their Parc des Princes stadium from Sunday, French interior minister Nicolas Sarkozy said.

Two weeks ago, PSG chairman Pierre Blayau said the French club had been "taken hostage" by rival groups of soccer hooligans who ransacked a motorway service station on their way back from a match.

"As from Sunday, 30 people will be banned from attending the (PSG) matches and will be summoned to the police station at the time of the games," Sarkozy told parliament.

France recently passed a law to tackle violent soccer fans and Sarkozy said that additional measures would be introduced to the national assembly.
