Eleven probation officers currently have a caseload of 465 including 286 probation orders, 74 suspended sentence supervision orders, four community service orders, six combination orders (community service orders and probation orders), 60 provisional orders of supervision and 35 pre-sentence reports and social inquiry reports. Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg told Franco Galea (PN) in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday.

The courts in the past three years issued 410 probation orders.

The minister said in reply to another question that 788 suspended sentences were delivered over the past three years, including 205 which involved foreigners
