The Jesuits have just released a report that presumes to cover xenophobia and racism in Malta.

Now, let me state at the outset that I am against any kind of discrimination. However, I am truly at a loss when our country, indeed our nation, has such an accusation made against it.

The only discrimination I can perceive in Malta is perpetrated by the Maltese against their own nation when they come up with these reports and gladly peddle them in the media as if they were engraved in stone by some divine authority. I suggest these organisations compile statistics of crimes and offences committed by Maltese against foreigners and vice-versa. They should then quantify the amount of assistance, financial or otherwise, given by the Maltese to foreigners and vice-versa.

If this does not suffice, another interesting source of data would be the proportion of Maltese taxpayer money spent on illegal migrants compared to other countries. I am sure the results would be an eye-opener.
