I wish to express my deep indignation at Melita Cable's horrendous treatment of its customers.

While the Italian state television station Rai was boasting that it would transmit all FI races and all World Cup matches, Melita Cable was as usual trying to have a field day at the expense of Maltese viewers. In fact Melita was offering a Sports pack so as to enable its customers to have access to the above. That's not all. For Lm25 the viewer would be getting all the World Cup matches but not all the F1 races!

The inaugural race of the 2006 FI season was held last Sunday. I tried to contact Melita to book my Sports pack as I had no other alternative. I attempted to do so between Thursday and Sunday, but to no avail. All I got was an endless recorded message while my phone pulses were being wasted. At the end I resigned myself to missing the Bahrain FI race while having to watch it in the evening. To add insult to injury not only did Melita block the FI race as it deemed fit, but just to prove its crass treatment went on to block the programme that is aired soon after the race too: just to put more pressure on its customers to fall for its dubious conditions.

It is obvious that Melita Cable is just riding roughshod over its loyal customers. Is it possible that the powers that be remain indifferent in the face of such glaring abuses?
