A group of senior student-performers from the Malta Drama Centre, accompanied by principal Mario Azzopardi, will leave for Latvia this week on a Community Theatre programme as part of a six-country enterprise financed by the EU adult training scheme.

Each country taking part in this project will suggest a relevant issue to be explored in dramatic form by the visiting troupe. All countries will then present their performances in a joint festival next year, to be held in Vienna.

The Maltese actors have been asked to research gender imbalance where women are emerging as the stronger sex when it comes to the assumption of domestic and social responsibility.
