Alex Borg, Joe Grech and Simon Zammit will represent Malta in the European Team Championship in Carlow, Ireland, between March 18 and 25.
Malta won the two editions of the championship played so far. In 2004 Malta beat England 10-6 in the final and last year they retained the honours by beating Ireland 11-6.
Borg is the current Malta and European champion. In 2004, he was the losing finalist and a year before he reached the semi-finals in the same championships.
Grech won the world billiards title in 1987 and in the same year he was the losing finalist in the world snooker championship.
Zammit's best showing on the continent so far was a few weeks ago when he qualified to the quarter-finals of the IBSF World Snooker Championship in Wales. In 2002, he also reached the semi-final in the European snooker championship.
Frans Mintoff and Tony Mifsud will take part in the Over 40.
MBSA secretary Paul Galea, will lead the team in Ireland. He will also be one of the referees.
Pro Am Snooker
Premier Division player Clint Grima beat the upcoming Aaron Busuttil 3-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the ProAm Snooker Tournament.
Grima will now meet Alex Borg. He compiled good breaks of 57 and 51 to eliminate Busuttil.
Thurston Grixti, 15, continued on the right track when he eliminated another Premier Division player. He beat Philip Ciantar 3-0 and now waits for the winner of the Simon Zammit-Jean Pierre Woods tie.
The tournament resumes in mid-April. Grixti will play in the European U-19 championship in Latvia.
