Road construction works were recently completed in several residential areas in Victoria and Ghajnsielem while similar works are also in progress at Xaghra.

Minister for Gozo Giovanna Debono, visiting the works in Ghajnsielem, said many infrastructural projects, including roads, will be completed over the coming months now that all the preparatory work was being concluded.

The Ministry said road construction works are expected to start in the coming months in other residential zones at Xaghra, Victoria, Xewkija, Kercem, Marsalforn, Nadur and Ghajnsielem.

Arterial roads are also being targeted by the ministry, with works currently in progress on the Victoria-San Lawrenz three-kilometre stretch, followed by the Xlendi, Mgarr and the Ramla road projects.

The government voted an additional Lm500,000 for the ministry's road projects in last year's budget.
