Issues related to the crisis provoked by the Danish newspaper cartoons portraying the prophet Mohammed will be the theme of a lecture by Martin Zammit at the Peace Laboratory in Hal Far today at 6.30 p.m.
Announcing the lecture, the Peace Lab said developments showed the serious consequences that can follow from misjudging how to deal with issues of terrorism and religion.
This third lecture in a series organised by the Peace Laboratory tackles the question of how someone who believes in God can become a terrorist.
The first two lectures were chaired by Peace Lab director Fr Dionysius Mintoff who illustrated how Catholicism and Protestantism condone the violent taking of life.
This time the theme is Islam and Dr Zammit will point out that many Muslim scholars insist that the current terrorist campaigns do not qualify as Jihad (Holy War).
