Oblivious to what is going on around him, Eddie Aquilina, for reasons known only to himself, seems determined to ignore what is happening to all of Sliema and is focusing only on Capua Hospital (March 9). Therefore, I do not intend to devote more time to the matter.

St James Capua is simply adding two small office rooms at the back. And that's all they are - office rooms which in no way will "exacerbate the already critical traffic and parking issues in the area". Neither will it increase any noise levels. Office computers seldom do. There is a large development going on next door but it has nothing to do with St James Capua Hospital.

I am glad Mr Aquilina has so much faith in the Malta Environment and Planning Authority and its statements. The additional two rooms being built at the back of Capua Hospital meet Mepa's requirements and of course all the usual stages in the application were followed. Mr Aquilina should really concentrate on what is happening outside the boundaries of his street for there he should find what nightmares, as he calls them, are really like.

I invite Sliema citizens who have any concerns about the operation of St James Capua to contact the management and we will be more than happy to show them around to allay any fears they might have.
