The Catholic youth group Y4J (Youths for Jesus) is "double daring" young people this Lent: firstly to come to St Julian's parish church daily from 8 to 9 p.m. for a week of Lenten talks for youths based on The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe from The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis; secondly to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour.
"Narnia Lenten talks" will kick off on Monday, March 20, and end the following Saturday with a Youth Mass. Experiences of other youths, dances, and live praise and worship by Y4J's band will feature throughout the week.
Fr Ray Toledo will deliver five talks. Every session will end with a few minutes of adoration giving youths the time and space to take the Word to heart.
Y4J, which is part of Marana Tha community, started in March 2000 and since then it organises various events including weekly Saturday meetings at St Michael's School in Pembroke, and yearly live-ins. Y4J's mission statement is to be a voice of a Jesus generation, introducing youths to their one best friend, Jesus their Lord and Saviour.
