A group of computer science students from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology attended a seminar on the IT systems used in Bank of Valletta's operations. The seminar was organised by BOV at its new centre in Santa Venera.

The students were given a technical overview of the various software applications used by the bank, including different databases, operating systems and computer languages. Anthony Cassar, systems project manager within the bank's IT department, told the students that the bank was seeking to take advantage of the investment it had made by working for a greater migration toward the use of technology.

The process involves convincing the customers of the added value benefits related to the use of modern service delivery channels, he said.
