The Alfa Romeo 159, the heir to the successful 156, was launched this week, heralding "a new era of cars designed by Alfa Romeo".
The brand is all about its vitality, the unique sound of its engine, its elegant forms and splendid Italian design, and the 159 encapsulates all that and more, said UCIM Co. Ltd managing director Francesca Grech.
The 159 is the first among a line of models that represents a new generation of Alfa Romeos, she said.
"For those who have driven an Alfa before, this is the best one yet. For those who have never drive an Alfa before, we assure you that it will surpass your expectations hands down."
The new Alfa has a completely new chassis, new suspension that improves road holding, and a new generation of gearboxes and engines.
The car has been awarded the prestigious five-star rating from Euro NCAP, offering up to eight air bags, innovative restraint systems and front seats with anti-whiplash.

As part of a series of events marking the launch of the 159, Alfa Romeo's new flagship, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club will be holding a meet and drive event tomorrow.
AROC members and enthusiasts will meet at 9. a.m. near the Alfa Romeo showroom, in Msida, and will then accompany a number of Alfa Romeo 159 models in a carcade to Ghajn Tuffieha.
The participation of classic Alfa Romeos is being encouraged.
