The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) in collaboration with the Malta Table Tennis Association recently organised an international conference at the Golden Tulip, Vivaldi Hotel, St Julian's. The meeting was attended by 35 referees from 17 European countries.
The conference, awarded to Malta during the last ETTU Congress, was conducted by Richard Scruton, chairman of the Referees Board.
International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) officials Colin Clemett and Cindy Leung were also present as new rules coming into effect in the World Championships in Bremen, Germany, were introduced.
The Maltese association was represented by five um-pires. They acted as observers during the conference.
