Five professional French drivers will take part in Sunday's Encounter Races, the second of their kind at the Marsa racetrack.
The organisers of the meeting are the Malta Racing Club (MRC) in conjunction with the Societe du Cheval Francais (SECF).
The card will include five finals, all on the long distance of 2,640m. The French drivers, who arrive tomorrow, are Pierre Levesque, Dominik Cordeau, Franck Nivard, Tony Le Beller and Manuel Criado. They will be accompanied by high-ranking officials from the French racing organisation.
Last week, Levesque was the driver of winning trotter Meulnes du Corta at the international Prix du Bois de Vincennes.
The Malta team for the MRC-SECF Encounter Races was named this week.
Charles Camilleri, Noel Baldacchino, Frencu Cassar, George Schembri and Carmelo Farrugia will be testing their wits against the French drivers in a championship where points will be given according to final placings.
The main sponsors of the Encounter Races are Hippofoder and Finntack.
