Valletta will be without two key players for their match with Premier League leaders Birkir-kara on Saturday.

Gilbert Agius, the City skipper, and midfielder Keith Fenech were among four Premier League players receiving a one-match ban yesterday. The other two were Hibs defender Aaron Xuereb and Daniel Theuma, of Msida SJ.

Agius and Xuereb came in for punishment by the MFA disciplinary chief after their verbal confrontation in the final stages of Saturday's league match between Valletta and Hibs prompted referee Anton Zammit to show them the red card. Valletta won the match 3-1.

Xuereb is now ineligible to take part in Hibs' match against Sliema Wanderers on Saturday.

As regards Fenech and Theuma, they have been suspended after collecting their fourth booking in last weekend's matches.

Theuma will miss Msida's meeting with the high-flying Marsaxlokk on Sunday. The latter must find a temporary replacement for their kit manager for their next two league games after Sammy Bonnici was handed a two-match ban.
