France centre Florian Fritz is doubtful for Sunday's Six Nations match against England at the Stade de France because of a knee injury.

"Florian badly bruised his left knee in a French championship match with his Toulouse club on Saturday," team manager Jo Maso said.

"He had a scan and doctors decided that he should be exempted from training until Wednesday (today). We'll see then if he has recovered."

Fritz started France's two main November tour matches against Australia and South Africa and their first three games of the Six Nations against Scotland, Ireland and Italy.

This year's Six Nations championship is still wide open since England, France, Ireland and Scotland are level on four points after two wins and a defeat each.
