Doubles matches from Div. One

The latest round of matches from the H2Only League heralded the start of the Doubles section from Division One.

Tony Xuereb and Martin Camilleri (Pawla Wolves) started by winning their first two encounters.

In their first match, they had the better of David Cole and Anna Galea. They won 15-13 15-5. The Wolves pair then went on to register a 15-9 15-12 win over Patrick Cassar and Jacqueline De Giovanni.

Cole/Galea made up for their initial setback with a 15-4 15-13 win over Catherine Dimech and Jo'Anne Cassar to notch the first two points of their season.

The Fourth Division is a two-horse race between Paul Johansson (Msida Arrows) and team-mate Adrian Urpani.

Johansson leads the table with a maximum eight points from four matches. Urpani is within striking distance, just one point adrift.

Christine Dalli is third with three points from three matches.

In the only match played so far from the Fifth Division, Olga Fedotkina beat Annalise Falzon at the end of a balanced match which the former won in two sets with an identical scoreline 15-13 15-13.
