The Swiss Air Force will be sending its PC-7 Team to take part in this year's Malta International Airshow at the end of summer.
The team is one of Switzerland's two national display teams. Made up of nine aircraft, it derives its name from the type of aircraft - the Swiss-made Pilatus PC-7.
The team is performing in Malta for the first time and usually performs at only three shows outside Switzerland each year.
In another airshow development, Malta has placed second in the European Airshow Council's competition for Outstanding Photography, Poster and Publicity Material during the 2006 convention held in Hasselt, Belgium. The convention was attended by 21 different countries.
Gilbert Buekenberghs, chairman of the EAC presented, Joe Ciliberti, president of the Malta Aviation Society, with a certificate for the good result obtained.
Last year's Malta's airshow was widely covered in the UK and TV footage will be shown on Jersey TV soon.
The airshow is expected to be held on September 23 and 24 and a number of countries have already indicated their participation.
