I wonder who the Minister of the Environment is trying to fool when he says that the proposed development in the Qui-Si-Sana area is a garden?
A garden is an open green space where one can relax after a hard day's work, sit down on a bench or preferably the lawn, read a book and listen to the birds returning to their nests as the sun sets.
It's a place where a kid can escape the noise and hustle of city life and discover the beauty and tranquillity of nature in the company of friends or a place where an elderly person can gossip in a shady spot under a mature olive tree. One thing is for sure: What the developer is proposing is definitely not a garden.
I would consider it to be more a glorified parking lot/complex. It makes me wonder if the developer ever visited Kew Garden, Hyde Park or any of the other beautiful gardens in the UK to get an idea of what a garden really looks like.
Another thing is for sure; if the idea of the minister was to get public sympathy for the designs, he definitely did not get mine.
