A team of junior members from the Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC) recently won the HSBC World Team Challenge. The winners of this competition, sponsored by HSBC International Financial Advisers (Malta) Ltd, saw off 20 other teams to finish with a total score of 299 Stableford points.
The Challenge was played over three weeks by a total of 21 teams, each made up of four players. The winning team, made up of Nick Beck, Chris Bergedahl, J.J. Micallef and Peter Dimech scored 86, 103 and 110 points on each of the three rounds respectively.
Bergedahl also won the prize for the highest individual score achieved over the three games played, with a total of 91 points.
Prizes to the winners and to the second-placed team, comprising Gernot Schmid, Hans Proell, Kim Borg and Peter Satariano, who accumulated 297 points, were presented by Michael Whitehead, Senior Manager at HSBC International Financial Advisers (Malta) Ltd.
