A police constable has been charged with defrauding an insurance agency by lodging a false claim three years ago.

PC Joseph Incorvaja, 42, pleaded not guilty to lodging the false report, defrauding Rausi Insurance Limited, lying under oath and committing a crime he was in duty bound to prevent on November 2002.

Police Inspector Chris Pullicino prosecuted.

Lawyer Robert Abela appeared for the accused.
