Fr Magro's "A new era in sports education" (The Sunday Times, February 5) gave me much satisfaction and one hopes that other schools will follow St Aloysius' College's example. Schools are the workshops for a better future for sport in Malta.

One cannot ignore the fact that physical education has become more significant nowadays so that our children have a complete education. The introduction of physical education as an examined subject at SEC level has boosted the subject in no small way.

St Aloysius' College must be commended for the serious way it is preparing students in the subject. Obviously, the contribution of a dedicated staff of PE teachers is imperative for such a project and Fr Magro is fortunate to possess such an asset. Well done Fr Magro. Well done, St Aloysius'.
