The authorities should keep the public informed about what is happening with the proposed rent laws reform and on the White Paper.

When is justice going to be done in this country? Do property owners have to keep on paying for previous governments' mistakes and injustices for an other 50 years or more?

Is it fair for a property valued at Lm40,000 to be rented out at Lm24 a year? Why doesn't the government buy these properties from their owners at the current market value to solve this problem once and for all? This way, the tenants will continue to live in the same property and pay the rent to the government.

This would make both the tenants and the landlords happy, and the government will be doing justice and making up for the many years during which landlords were denied the use of their own property. When previous governments ordered vacant property to be handed over to the housing department they were acting as "squatters".

I hope that with the general election approaching, the government will find a solution so that social justice will be done.
