I Have Reason to believe that Calypso Radio was the only station which took the initiative to broadcast Charles Arrigo's funeral Mass from Naxxar parish church.
I would have thought that more TV and radio stations would have felt it their duty to do likewise after the legacy this icon of broadcasting left behind.
All of us who had the pleasure and honour of working with this knowledgeable gentleman are very proud and grateful for all he has done for and with us and for the whole of the nation, not only in broadcasting but also in the various fields in which his many talents abounded.
No doubt local broadcasting would not be in the pitiful state it is in today had many more people in this field followed Charles Arrigo's example and learned from him.
Let us hope that his wealth of knowledge will not go to waste and that we will make good use of it to see a marked improvement in broadcasting.
May the good suggestion to set up a foundation (one of many suggestions) to help improve the standards of broadcasting and public reading be considered carefully and followed through! It would be a fitting memorial to Charles Arrigo, one which he would dearly appreciate.
