I do not necessarily agree or disagree with the proposal to have an image of the Baptism of Christ sculpture on the euro.

However, I would like to inform the debate that a (Sterling) 20 pence coin that is legal tender in Gibraltar, and as far as I understand also in the United Kingdom, bears the image of Our Lady, under the title of Our Lady of Europa.

I have no idea whether this fact has any value as a precedent of Christian (Catholic?) imagery on legal tender within an EU state. It is nevertheless, in my opinion, an interesting fact.
