The Union Haddiema Maghqudin will tomorrow step up its industrial action at the Malta Environment and Planning Authority following what it said was Mepa's reluctance to send new proposals for a collective agreement.
The UHM had issued a number of directives which took effect on January 31 after no agreement was reached on working conditions for employees.
From today there will be no photocopying, no correspondence via e-mail or faxes, no "mapping shop" service to the public and no issuing of compliance certificates.
A spokesman for Mepa said the authority will do its utmost to minimise any inconvenience to the public and that while negotiating collective agreements it follows government policy.
