A 59-year-old man of Ta' Xbiex is in danger of dying after he was punched in an argument following a road accident in Gzira yesterday, the police said.

The man was driving through Cameron Street when he was involved in a traffic accident with a car driven by a 27-year-old woman from Birkirkara. An argument ensued between the two drivers and, at one stage, a 30-year-old man who was with the woman driver hit the other driver, the police said.

The injured man was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and was found to be in danger of dying.

Duty magistrate Miriam Hayman appointed a number of experts to assist in an inquiry.

The police are investigating.
