¤ The Lourdes Home in Ghajnsielem is holding a fund-raising bazaar from today to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entrance from back gate. China, frames, CDs, books, clothes, soft toys, plants, baskets, material, wool and other items will be on sale.

¤ The Nadur Carnival will be held today on St Peter and Paul Square from 2.30 to 6 p.m. The spontaneous Carnival will be held from Friday to February 28, from 8 p.m. onwards.

¤ Carnival activities will be held daily in St Albert Street, Xewkija, from Friday to January 28 from 8 p.m. onwards.

A traditional Carnival dinner (Jeudi Gras) will be held at the Xewkija Primary School hall on Thursday at 7.30 p.m. Gawdenz Bilocca will be a special guest. Tickets are available from the local council.

On Friday, a Carnival evening with competitions, including that for best costume, will be held at the parish centre from 6.30 p.m. onwards. For more information contact the local council (tel. 2155-8822 or 2156-5719). Applications close tomorrow.

On Saturday, a défilé, led by the King Carnival float, leaves St Albert Street at 5.30 p.m., followed by a programme of dance by various companies, with the participation of the Precursor Band, on St John Baptist Square.

¤ Carnival activities in Victoria continue next Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Festivities open with a défilé from Ninu Cremona Complex to Independence Square.

The children's Carnival, with the participation of various Gozitan schools, will be held at the Gozo Sports Complex in Victoria on Friday at 10 a.m.

Other activities will be held on Independence Square on February 28 from 6 to 8.30 p.m.
