THE Committee for Further Training and Work Resources Fund (Non-Academic), in collaboration with the Computing Services Centre (CSC), will be organising computer courses, which will prepare staff to acquire the ECDL Advanced (ECDLA) qualification.

ECDLA is the logical progression for University staff who have achieved the ECDL Core (basic) certification and who wish to further enhance their ICT skills and knowledge. Currently ECDLA consists of four modules: AM3 Word Processing, AM4 Spreadsheets, AM5 Database and AM6 Presentation.

Staff may follow the full ECDLA programme, i.e. the four modules. They may also opt to follow a particular module. A separate certificate is issued for each successfully completed test. More information about ECDLA courses and tests is available at: www.csc.um.edu.mt/courses/at/ecdladv.html or www.csc.um.edu.mt/courses/ecdl/tests.html

The Further Training and Work Resources Fund (Non-Academic) will finance the expenses involved with the acquisition of this certification, that is both the ECDLA course and the tests. The amounts incurred for members of staff to follow the course and sit for the tests will be deducted from the individual allocation.

Members of staff interested in following any ECDLA modules and tests are invited to complete the relative application form available from the secretary, Margaret Camilleri, Administration Building, Room 305, and return it to the same office.
