Not only is it unfair that families owning properties rented under the 1939 rent laws are receiving a pittance, but, to add insult to injury, relatives of tenants are sending their so-called "loved ones" to an old people's home while still paying a miserable rent.
In the meantime, owners of these properties have to pay hundreds of liri a month renting for their children while their property is left empty by these tenants in the hope that the property will be taken over by their close relatives.
When will justice prevail, if ever?
