The parents of five teenagers who died in a traffic accident last October filed a judicial letter yesterday calling on the driver of the van their sons were in to make good for the damages sustained.

The driver, 22-year-old Antoine Cassar, is facing charges of involuntarily causing the death of David Sacco, 13, Fabio Magro, 16, and 17-year-olds Marco Abdilla, Oswaldo Emanuel Vella and Christian Camilleri.

The victims' parents addressed the judicial letter to Mr Cassar and to Sean Briffa and Dorianne Farrugia. The latter two were in another car that may have been involved in the accident.

The parents held Mr Cassar responsible for the accident and called on him to make good for the damages suffered.

The letter was also addressed to insurance agencies Gasan Mamo Insurance and Elmo Insurance Ltd.

Lawyers Jason Azzopardi, Michael Tanti-Dougall and Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall signed the judicial letters.
