A woman was yesterday given a two-year jail term suspended for four years after she admitted to forging money. A man who confessed to conspiring with her during the operative time of a suspended jail term was jailed for 13 months.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera heard Grace Cini, 34, of Bugibba plead guilty to forging money and to the possession of the forged money on and before last July.

Noel Frendo, 30, pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit a crime, relapsing and committing the crime during the operative time of a suspended jail term.

On handing down judgment Magistrate Scerri Herrera noted that Ms Cini had 10 previous convictions on her record, ranging from the possession of drugs to loitering for prostitution purposes.

Mr Frendo's criminal record was nine pages long and included convictions for the possession of firearms and drug trafficking.

The magistrate ordered Ms Cini and Mr Frendo to pay Lm452 to cover the expenses incurred by the courts in appointing experts.

Police Inspector Angelo Gafà prosecuted.
