Malta has been portraying itself as a potential yachting destination for about 40 years now, hosting the first "guests" on moorings mid-stream in Ta' Xbiex creek until the construction of the Ta' Xbiex quay, when a number of stern-to-berths were made available.

In 1976, the publication Yachting In Malta was launched to present visiting yachtsmen with a guide to the services and facilities offered by the then relatively new industry.

Presently plans are at hand for the publication of another issue of Yachting In Malta, a significant number as it will mark its 30th anniversary. Quality And Standard In Our Approach And Delivery is the theme chosen by publishers Wilfred Sultana and Associates for this edition.

The publishers, who have just launched a promotion brochure to announce the forthcoming edition, also envisage holding a number of maritime oriented activities, including a sailing regatta and a powerboat race, to commemorate the publication of this seventh issue in the series.

The 30th anniversary edition of Yachting In Malta is being published under the patronage of the Malta Yacht Traders, the Malta Maritime Authority, the Malta Sailing Federation and the Malta Tourism Authority.
