'Tee Ball' nursery fun day at Marsa

What is Tee Ball? Tee ball is a 'nursery sport' used to introduce young boys and girls to baseball and softball.

In baseball the ball is thrown from an overhead motion and in softball the ball is thrown using an underhand motion. But, in Tee Ball the ball isn't thrown at all but is placed on a stand which is called a 'Tee'.

This way it is easier to hit the ball and the fundamental skills of swinging a bat can be made much easier to beginners. The balls used in Tee Ball are the same size as those in baseball, but, softer, making it even safer for young children.

The Malta Baseball Association will be holding a Tee Ball fun day on February 19 at the baseball field in Marsa between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.
