I Refer to Mr Theodore Sammut's letter titled "Free medicine for chronic illness" (The Sunday Times, February 5).
The Minister of Health, the Elderly and Community Care has, on various occasions, openly pronounced himself on the need of a reform in the Schedule 5 (yellow card) and pink card scheme.
People suffering from chronic respiratory and heart illnesses fall under the Schedule 5 (yellow card) scheme and are entitled to free medicines related to their chronic disease, irrespective of their financial means.
