Three letter boxes forced open

Three letter boxes in the Kappara/San Gwann area were found forced open early yesterday morning, Maltapost said.

The letter boxes are in Triq il-Fjamma, corner with Triq Antonio Schembri (near the Russian Embassy), Kappara; Triq is-Sebuqa corner with Triq il-Fagu, San Gwann; and Triq Birkirkara (near Astral Hi-Fi Centre), San Gwann.

Five letters to local addresses were found in the Triq il-Fjamma box, one letter to a local address was found in the Triq is-Sebuqa box, and 15 letters to local addresses and two to foreign destinations were in the Triq Birkirkara box.

All the items were forwarded as addressed following police investigations. However, as some posted items may have been removed after the letter boxes were broken into, Maltapost is suggesting that members of the public who may have posted items in these boxes after the last collection should check with the addressees to ensure the eventual delivery of the posted items.
