The EU Commissioner for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Joe Borg, will today inaugurate the 11th maritime law course organised by the IMO-International Maritime Law Institute at the Maritime Law Institute within the university campus.

Dr Borg will deliver a keynote address on the EU Green Paper on Maritime Affairs.

The course offers an overview of the maritime dimension of EU policy, as reflected in the various rules and legislation covering fisheries, coastal zone management and marine environmental protection.

It also focuses on shipping, delves into the intricate EU rules on maritime competition, ship safety and environmental protection.
