In The Second series of the radio programme Laboratorju Letterarju hosted by Campus FM (Mondays 7.30 p.m. and Tuesdays 2.30 p.m.), Dr Gloria Lauri-Lucente will be interviewing a number of prominent scholars on various aspects of literature, film, and history.
Her guests will include Professor Dominic Fenech, Professor Peter Vassallo, and Dr Ivan Callus from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Malta, Professor Leonardo Quaresima (University of Udine) and Professor Alfredo Luzi (University of Macerata).
The first four programmes of this series feature an interview with Professor Fenech on his latest work entitled Endemic Democracy (1919-30), the first volume of Responsibility and Power in Inter-War Malta (PEG, 2005).
Professor Fenech read history at the University of Malta, and obtained his D.Phil. in modern history from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He has lectured in modern Maltese and international history since 1979. His chief research interests and publications include Mediterranean history and international relations, modern and contemporary Maltese political history, constitutional and electoral issues, and current Maltese political development.
Professor Fenech is Professor of History and head of the Department of History. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta.
