Excel crush First 8-0 in Fina derby

Big win for Aercomms

Week four of the Middlesea League at the Eden SuperBowl saw an astonishing win for Fina Excel in the derby, as they literally crushed stablemates Fina First 8-0, rolling a huge 2,636 team series, snatching the Division One lead as an extra bonus for their victory.

Aercomms stay level with Excel on points, having thrashed Right Deal 8-0 with another high-scoring performance.

Fina Excel have long been in the shadow of their more successful sister team Fina First, but their performance in the first Fina clash of the season proved that this time around they are a definite force to be reckoned with, and have a realistic shot at the title.

All four Excel bowlers were 200+ in game one and they kept up their blistering pace in the second. Excel were unstoppable and went on to claim the match by winning game three 823-767, superstar schoolboy Justin Caruana Scicluna shooting a tremendous 723 for the winners making him male Bowler of the Week.

Aercomms rolled a great 2,523 total in their demolition of Right Deal who slipped to seventh place. Right Deal barely stood a chance, going down 830-725 in the opener, and finding themselves an ominous 185 pins behind after an 805-725 beating in game two.

Aercomms' best was still to come, as they claimed game three, and the match in a blaze of glory bowling a massive 888 against their opponents' good 813 effort.

Ramis also scooped an 8-0 victory against bottom team New Blood to go third, although the match was somewhat closer than the score might suggest. Swoosh were the unlucky 0-8 losers in the game against Globalair.

Interwetten Alley Catz stay fourth after winning the first of two majority wins of the week, prevailing 6-2 against Royal Shock.

Fireballs moved up one spot to eighth thanks to the six points they won at the expense of Sammy's Embroideries.
